Hi, I’m Karen Denise — founder, formulator, and creator of Honey, Scrubs n’ Stuff Skincare. I find peace in quiet moments, in the sound of water, birdsong, the sweetness of raw honey, and the gentle freedom of butterflies in motion.

My story didn't start with a business plan — it started with grief, love, and three small bottles tucked away in my mother’s drawer: frankincense, patchouli, and peppermint.

After losing my mother to breast cancer in 2007, I struggled deeply with emotional anxiety. In 2009, I began making skincare at home as a way to heal and feel again — simple things like a linen mist to ease headaches and invite rest, a body scrub to soothe dry skin, and a lotion that felt light and comfortable on my skin. What began as comfort slowly became my purpose.

The Heart Behind the Name

The name Honey, Scrubs n’ Stuff holds pieces of my family and my heart. “Honey” is what my dad and brother called me my entire life, and “Stuff” comes from my mother’s creativity — she was always making, building, and creating something beautiful. This brand carries a piece of all of them, blended with the love and inspiration I now pour into every product.

Why I Do What I Do

With extremely sensitive skin, I understand the frustration of reading labels and not recognizing what’s inside the products you use daily. I wanted something different — skincare that felt gentle, intentional, and trustworthy on my own skin first.

That’s what led me to create my own formulations using vegan fragrances, essential oils, clays, sugars, and non-comedogenic oils — ingredients chosen with care, for skin that needs softness and balance.

My Mission

My mission is to create skincare that feels personal to your skin and reaches all communities with care. I want every product to feel like it understands what your skin needs the moment you use it.

I know what it’s like to struggle with sensitive skin and not feel considered by mainstream products, so I built something rooted in gentleness, intention, and trust.

What started in my kitchen has now grown into a handcrafted skincare brand with over 150 products, all created to help people feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in their skin.
